Art One Celebrates 23 Years

The art gallery landscape on Marshall Way in Old Town Scottsdale has changed immensely since Art One opened its doors in 1993. Owner Kraig Foote started Art One to help struggling art students learn about art, how to sell their own art and how to manage their career. The gallery represents and displays the work of more than 100 high school, college and local artists.

Art One features a variety of work from a wide segment of artists of varying mediums. Prices are clearly displayed and Foote’s strategy from the beginning has been to keep everything affordable. Many art collections – and artists – began here.

Arcadia Gateway

The shopping plaza on the southwest corner of 44th St. and Indian School is winding down its construction and beginning to open some new shops.

Creamistry

Creamistry, tbd, has a unique take on creating the perfect ice cream treat: liquid nitrogen. Customers start with a size or specialty, ranging from shakes to floats to waffle bowls and more. Next they select an ice cream base, including choices of premium, organic, Greek yogurt, non-dairy, vegan and gluten free options such as sorbet and coconut milk. Some of Creamistry’s nearly 40 flavors include birthday cake, sea salt caramel, Madagascar vanilla bean and blood orange. Top your creation off with candy, fruits, nuts or cookies. Everything is mixed with liquid nitrogen for a smoky visual showcase.
