It’s been one whole year since I wrote my very first editor’s note, and what a whirlwind it’s been! I’ve met so many great people and have been able to explore all that the Arcadia area has to offer.

One thing that really stood out was the support of the surrounding schools’ teachers. They kept up with school spirit by throwing drive-by parades, sending postcards and posting videos for their students.

All around the community, folks saw the public and private area schools’ graduation signs put up in front yards. And even though graduation is going to look different this year, students, teachers, staff and parents have already started celebrating the class of 2020.

The summer months came out of nowhere (especially since we’ve been inside all this time) and even though extra precautions are in place, it’s time to explore – whether it be in your own backyard, up north or around the country.

Arcadia News wants to see what you’re doing for summer vacation this year. Send photos to for a chance to be featured in a special section of the September edition. One lucky family will be featured on the cover. The deadline to send in photos is August 7. We can’t wait to see all the fun you’ve had!

Congratulations to the class of 2020, happy summer and as always, thank you for reading Arcadia News!

In last month’s paper, we wrote a story about the Expansion and Legacy Campaign happening at Shemer Art Center. We would like to confirm that the campaign is still ongoing and apologize for any confusion we may have caused.
